Brand Inspiration

The founder of M31N once interned in Miuccia Prada's office during their studies, and on the first day of work, was deeply struck by the words "Women don't need to dress like men to prove their strength."

In the era of CHANEL, women's power needed to be expressed by imitating men. They donned tweed suits, borrowing the silhouette of men's clothing, to proclaim their existence in a male-dominated world. That was a necessary revolution. The new generation of women's power no longer stems from imitating others, but from in-depth exploration of the self. Their power comes from their rich spiritual world—a vast universe constructed through books, data, code, and art, beyond the reach of others.

The birth of M31N is a redefinition of intellectual beauty. We design for a group of women who are calm, rational, and reserved. They are the "Geeks" in the eyes of the world, but they have long since subverted the stale prejudices about highly intelligent women in their own way. Their beauty lies in an extreme sense of "contrast": seemingly contradictory bookishness and fashionable sense, conformity and rebellious spirit coexist harmoniously in them, forming a fascinating tension. M31N (full name M31N 2008-12a) is a periodic nova located within the Andromeda Galaxy (M31), and is also one of the currently known most active nova outburst systems. Each of its outbursts results from a compact white dwarf continuously accreting and accumulating matter from its companion star—just like the women we admire:
